Locals call it Down Below, our grandfathers' said 'it wasn't the end of the world, but you could see it from there,' to owner, Amanda Bramble, it felt like home. Sunday afternoons Amanda enjoyed supper at her grandparents home in the lower county. When deciding what type of menu she would serve up at J&S, there was only one she was passionate about, her grandmother's. It is our hope that you can create your own unforgetable memories with your friends and family at our tables.
Our restaurant is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, and more. There is also a private second floor event room seating 20 - 200 guests as well as off site catered options. We would love to discuss how to be a part of your next event.
We refuse to compromise on quality at Jimmie and Sook's in Cambridge. We make the things you eat right here, no short cuts.... and seafood, that's where we get excited! All of our crabmeat is LOCAL MD BLUE CRAB, just like our grandfather's caught and our grandmother's picked. Not just a seafood restaurant either! We now offer a full BBQ menu pulled fresh from the smoker daily. We even have a small family farm we source some of our noted menu items from. Our staff takes pride in the quality and effort that goes into our menus, from the ingredients to the plating. Come taste why!
We went after a recommendation from local B&B and even though I thought we knew the Eastern Shore, I had never been here. Crab cakes were amazing, local produce was great and fish tacos were a fantastic combination of shrimp and local garden produce!Excellent service
From what we could gather, this place is well regarded by locals in the know, and I can see why. The combination of relaxed ambiance and excellent food makes it a winner. They aren't just phoning it in here but are trying hard to give you something special. Lots of very pleasant folks working here, too. If you stay late enough you might find yourself, as we did, in friendly conversation with people like Missy the bartender, Ray the chef, and Bernadette the hostess. In short, it's a great place for a relaxing and delicious meal.
A family-friendly restaurant/bar with pleasant street-side outdoor seating in historic downtown Cambridge. Service could not have been better -- our server was friendly, efficient & prompt, knowledgeable of the menu & also made helpful suggestions... we were not disappointed.
